Watch Him Grow | Family

I had the honor of photographing this sweet boy's newborn pictures and now I got to spend time with him again for his 4 month photo shoot! He is seriously a rock star. And too adorable for words. Ladies, you better look out in about 18 years!

Marci & Drew | Engagement

Since the day I picked up my camera, I have been adamant that I did not want to shoot weddings. Growing up my dad was a photographer and I heard all kinds of crazy stories about chaotic wedding days. Then in high school I worked as an assistant for a wedding photographer and I got to experience all kinds of craziness and chaotic wedding days. One couple even decided to use interwoven locks of each other's hair as wedding bands instead of rings. HAIR. I could not make this up, people!

So when Marci e-mailed me about shooting her wedding, I was hesitant. All I kept thinking about was the chaos. And the crazy. And the hair rings. What I was forgetting was the love. The anticipation of a groom seeing his bride for the first time. The fellowship between two families. Seeing people take a chance on happily ever after.

I am overjoyed to say that on November 11, Mike and I will be the photographers for Marci and Drew's wedding! And even if there is a little bit of craziness or chaos, it won't matter because love covers all. Although if they pull out rings made of hair, I may just bolt for the door. I kid, I kid! : )

Here are some of my favorites from their engagement session...

I cannot say enough about their love for each other! In the short amount of time we spent together, it was so evident that they are truly each other's rock. They are so tender and caring, it reminded me of how wonderful it is to be married to your best friend!

Um, seriously Marci, you could not BE any more GORGEOUS!

You know it's true love when you get the "nose wrinkle smile"!

Marci and Drew, I cannot express to you both how thankful I am that you're taking a chance on me to photograph your wedding. Your love shines so brightly and it is the highest honor that you're allowing me to be a part of that!

It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year | Personal

Happy Pumpkin Spice Latte Day! If it were up to me, this day would be a national holiday. Or at least Google could make one of those cool homepages dedicated to the goodness that is the PSL!

I really do wait in anxious anticipation for this time of year. If you've visited the Foster Photography website, you'll know that I am crazy about the fall. Perfectly cool weather, beautiful leaves on the ground, carving pumpkins, having bonfires, eating s'mores, celebrating Black Friday Eve (or as some strange people call it, "Thanksgiving"). It's seriously the best.

One of the greatest things about the fall are family pictures! So, in honor of the most wonderful time of year, if you book a session with me and mention this blog post, the price will drop from $125 to $85!

The special "Laura Loves The Fall" price only lasts until November 13. Don't miss this opportunity to have your holiday pictures taken early and without any stress!
E-mail me at laura@foster-photo.net to book your session today!

Matthew & Jess | Family

The more I work with kids, the more I'm convinced that if someone could figure out how to bottle their energy, the world would be a much better (and more productive) place! Matthew and Jess are two incredible brothers who are full of life and love for each other! My guess is that these two bicker just like any other siblings, but it will take a lot of convincing to get me to believe that! We had a fun afternoon of running, jumping, and playing on the playground without a care in the world!

I seriously just want to squeeze Jess! How adorable is he?

This face could melt any heart!

I wish I could hire Matthew as my artistic director. He was full of creative ideas for poses and locations for different shots!

If Matthew ever got out of Jess's sight, he would look around and ask me, "Have you seen my brother?" You can tell that Matthew is the best big brother a kid could ever ask for...Jess adores him!

Matthew and Jess, don't ever forget your love for each other! Thank you for letting me spend time with you and document your incredible brotherly bond!

Back to school, back to school...

I am proud to say that as I type this blog post, there are no tears in my eyes. This morning, Mike and I dropped Liam off for his first day of preschool. Yes, my little manzini started "school" today! Since we enrolled him, it's been an emotional roller coaster for me, however today I am feeling at peace with the situation (proof God does hear and answer our prayers!).

Mike thought it would be a good idea to let Liam play with kids his age, learn to listen to other adults, and also it gives me one day a week of "me" time. At first I protested. "But he's soooooo little still!!!" I thought I'd be really smart and enlist the help of my mom. I thought surely she'll agree with me and Mike will be outnumbered and I'll win. Boy, was I wrong. She thought it was a great idea too.

Poor Mike has had to put up with a lot from me these last few weeks (ok, let's be honest, the last few years!). I was the only mom wiping away the tears while picking out crayons at Target. I stood in the aisle with crayons in my hand saying, "Seriously, wasn't he JUST BORN?! And now we're buying SCHOOL SUPPLIES?!"
I was the only mom crying at preschool orientation. I'm really surprised Mike didn't scoot down a few chairs and pretend like he didn't know me!
But, even though I cried a little while I put his cute little shoes on this morning, I didn't cry when we dropped him off. In fact, he was having such a great time running around and playing with the other kids that it was impossible to not smile!

So while the house may be very quiet right now, and I won't get to see his adorable bed-head when he wakes up from his nap (oh Lord, please let him nap at preschool!), or see him dance for joy at the sight of Yo Gabba Gabba, I'm able to take some time for myself and refresh. And when I pick him up, I know it will be so sweet and I'll be a better mother because I've been given some precious time to just breathe.

Sarah's Furry Friends

On the drive over to Sarah's house, I thought about how thankful I am that we are all created with different desires and are fueled by different passions. Sarah is the saint for all things furry and four-legged. Honestly, she needs a superhero cape and a rockin' costume. Her heart is amazing and she does whatever she can to help when she sees an animal in need. I had the privilege of spending time with Sarah and these lovable creatures!

All of these precious faces except one were rescued by Sarah. A friend even posted on her Facebook, "When I die, I want to come back as a stray in your yard!"

Sarah, I am truly inspired by your compassion and heart. Thank you for showing us all what it looks like to live outside of ourselves!

Visit the Humane Society of Missouri's website to find out more about how to get involved-

Randall & DeAnna | Happily Ever After

Most every little girl dreams of finding her prince charming, whether it be via glass slipper, a super long nap, or transforming a beast into a hunk. Although life isn't always Disney perfect, it is a privilege of mine to photograph people who are living real life love stories. Randall and DeAnna have been married a year now and wanted to celebrate by re-creating those special wedding memories without all of the stress and hustle and bustle that can accompany the actual wedding day. The most amazing part of a Happily Ever After session? Creating and capturing even more memories!

Randall and DeAnna have such a special love. These two just fit! They are both full of life and show each other care and affection beautifully!

DeAnna seriously gives Martha Stewart a run for her money. Her attention to detail is impeccable and she did a wonderful job a recreating the flowers from her wedding day.

I'm pretty sure I set a world record for how many times I said the word gorgeous during the session! But seriously, just look at her! Bonus points for anyone who can come up with a word that means better than gorgeous because I need to to describe how stunning DeAnna looks!

Randall and DeAnna, congratulations on your first year of marriage! May you have many years ahead full of laughter, joy, and a love for each other that only grows stronger!
